Hi, I’m Kim — a little matcha-obsessed (okay, very matcha-obsessed).
My journey started the day I tasted real Japanese matcha for the first time — not the bitter, dull powder you sometimes find in cafés, but the vibrant, smooth, umami-rich kind that makes you pause mid-sip and go, wait...this is matcha?
That cup changed everything.
Why I Started Kim’s Matcha House
After falling in love with high-quality matcha, I quickly ran into a problem: it was hard to find the matcha I wanted in Canada — especially in Vancouver. I wanted options. I wanted brands from Japan I knew and trusted. I wanted matcha that tasted like what I’d had in Kyoto.
So I decided to bring it here myself.
That’s how Kim’s Matcha House was born — a space for people to explore real Japanese matcha, with variety, transparency, and a whole lot of love.
What You’ll Find Here
Whether you’re just getting into matcha or you’ve been whisking for years, you’ll find something for you. I carry a curated selection of matcha directly sourced from Japan — from heritage family tea farms to small-batch producers. Every blend is something I personally drink (often multiple times a day).
I’ve tested them in lattes, on their own, in cocktails, in cookies — and I only bring in what I genuinely love.
My Mission
At the end of the day, my goal is simple:
To share real Japanese matcha with people in my local Vancouver community — and with matcha lovers across Canada. No fluff, no fillers. Just good matcha.
And yes, keeping my own stash stocked is definitely part of the plan too.
